Martini Extra Dry
Martini
What it does
A dry-vermouth route that narrows sweetness and sharpens the divide between spirit and bitter. It is useful for a brisk, aperitif-led direction; equal parts can become severe unless the other two bottles supply enough breadth.
In the family
Dry vermouths
Replace rosso with dry vermouth and the drink becomes less sweet, with gin and Campari more exposed. This is the wine change behind a Cardinale or a dry Negroni.
