Cynar Original
Bottle · Artichoke amaro
What it does
Cynar darkens the whole bitter job. Swap it in fully and the drink leaves Campari's bright orange behind for something earthier and more herbal. Split it with Campari and it adds shade while keeping a foot in the Classic. It's a deliberate riff either way, and it moves the centre of the drink rather than slotting in quietly.
In the family
Amari
The darker bitter move. Where Campari brings brightness, amaro brings depth, earth, and herbal weight. It can share the bitter job or take it over outright.
