Campari, Cocchi & soda
At a glance
Campari and Cocchi, no gin, opened up with soda. Bitter, red, and low in strength.
Ingredients
Make it
Ratio1:1 + soda
- Method
Build the bitter and vermouth over cubed ice, add chilled soda, then stir once gently.
- Ice
Cubed ice.
- Glass
Highball glass.
- Garnish
Orange slice.
Temperature and dilution
Keep everything cold and avoid excess stirring after adding the soda.
Why add the soda last?
Soda is the most neutral way to lengthen the drink. Add it cold, stir once, and stop. It should open the bitter and vermouth without washing either out.

Compare
Lighter than a Negroni but still clearly Campari and rosso, where a longer soda pour would wash it out.
