The story
Gin, Campari, sweet vermouth, in equal parts. The familiar story starts in Florence, with an Americano made stronger by replacing soda with gin. The exact history is not perfectly tidy, but the shape is what matters: soda out, gin in, and the drink pulls tight into three equal parts. Everything else here is this one with a single thing moved, so it's the place to start. It reads simple and punishes weak ingredients: a tired vermouth turns it harsh, a rich one turns it plush, and the gin sets how dry it sits.

- Beefeater + Campari + CocchiEqual Parts mixBeefeater's juniper up top, Cocchi keeping it round underneath. A clean, honest Classic.
- Tanqueray + Campari + Punt e MesEqual Parts mixThe firmer Classic. Tanqueray keeps it dry, Punt e Mes adds bitter grip.
- Plymouth + Campari + Carpano AnticaEqual Parts mixThe rounder Classic. Soft Plymouth and rich Antica give it body and a plush finish.
- Gin-forward Beefeater + Campari + CocchiEqual Parts mixSame bottles as the baseline, more gin. Drier and cleaner, less led by the vermouth.
- Tanqueray + Aperol + CocchiEqual Parts mixA softer red-bitter riff. Aperol pulls the bitterness down, Tanqueray keeps it upright.
