London dry gin

Type

What it does

London dry gin is the default gin shape for a Classic Negroni: dry, juniper-led, and firm enough to hold Campari and rosso in place. It gives the drink its spine rather than sweetness or weight. Softer gins can work, but this is the clean reference style most gin-based versions are pushing from.

Gins

The Classic's dry spine. Gin brings the botanical structure that keeps a Negroni clear and bitter instead of soft. Swap it out and you've usually changed families.
